Tony began photography at the beginning of 1990. He gained a fellowship at The Royal Photographic Society later in the same year with a panel of his male nudes. His 'Studies in Black' have been published in several books listed below and his own monograph. He now also has a very limited edition of only 25, printed by himself, the binding is done by an artisan book binder in the best quality leather as is the box it comes in.

His work has also been published in many magazines and journals and when The Ink Group in Australia saw his work they produced a very successful calendar for several years called 'Noir”.

Tony's work has many times been likened to the work of Robert Mapplethorpe and last year after writing to a well known American film maker, after seeing her interview about the two guys who made the Mapplethorpe documentary, was filmed by the lady in question for use in the future. Tony sometimes feels uncomfortable about the link to Mapplethorpe as he sees his work as far more artistic and has never seen a reason to shock.

His work has been shown in many one man and joint exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Paris, Birmingham and his home town of London. One of his London shows was featured on a BBC radio discussion programme. He has also did stills work for three London theatre productions 'Pepper Soup' at The Lyric Hammersmith, 'Adam's Apple” and the controversial play 'Corpus Christi'.

His work was part of a documentary film on the male body produced in Canada, and as previously said in this piece, filmed last year for possibly something in the future.

Tony's work is now in the collections of the V&A in London and The Museum of Modern Art in Palm Springs, USA.
